Oh yes, I was there. No pics from me though. I'm a bit vertically challenged (hee hee) and I always struggle to capture good quality shots. Thank God for you!!!

I guess its different strokes for different folks Charmaine. I, on the other hand, like quite a few sections and I'm having trouble narrowing it down....LOL!

Lol! Me too Cocoa! I thought the costumes this year were so pretty & each section was very unique. I like that they're choosing to pay homage to Sparrow too. A nice change to kinda bring more of the culture back into the mas scene in T-dot. Can't wait for the themed website to see it really come to life!

Well done guys...

I've been reading other blogs and it's 50/50 with respect to people's views on the costumes. You can't please everyone. To be honest, I think they costumes are great. The theme is different and creative and with the exception of 2 sections (Obeah Wedding and Sexy Marajhin) in my opinion I think the costumes look good.
I will be lined up on Wednesday bright and early as I try to decide whether to play in Drunk & Disorderly or Jean & Dinah!

Cocoa girl its looking like they aren't bothering with the themed website this year. :( Not sure why...like you I look forward to it as much as the costumes every year. I hate to think that they've finally reached the point where it's just about selling bikinis & feathers because even though that seems to be what mas comes down to these days, I've always liked that Nationz seemed to go the extra mile creatively to show how you can have bikini mas yet still really portray a theme. Frankly, the lack of effort this year is disappointing. Granted the costumes are beautiful as always, but that seems to be the only thing they put any effort into this year which I think is sad. As a loyal Nationz masquerader I have always thought of them as the band that strives to set the standard high and innovate where other bands stagnate, but over the last couple of years I've watched them fall into a lull where they are content to just sell out the band with less and less regard for anything else. I can't even begin to comment on the chaos they called "loyalty registration" on Wednesday night. I've never seen so much disorganization. I can tell you that I didn't feel very rewarded for my loyalty at all. I think they seriously need to re-evaluate the direction they're taking as a band because from what I saw and heard from people who are supposed to be loyal patrons the other night, they're headed down a slippery slope.

Cocoa did you get through? Despite all the craziness I was able to get my costume, but if some serious changes don't happen I'm sad to say that this may be my last year. :(

@Tanya... my sentiments exactly. Maybe they don't realize that their success to this point has been about more than just the mas... but also the extra efforts they have put in to sell their themes and set themselves apart from the others. A very slippery slope indeed.
