As we prepare for the 2K12 Toronto Carnival season, Renaissance Mas Productions is looking for a variety of body types to hit the "RMP" runway at our Band Launch of "Gods & Goddesses: Myths of Ancient Worlds" Photo Shoot. Everything from the young to the young-at-heart, muscular men, tall, short to curvaceous women.

The Toronto Revellers have introduced another section "Lullaby". One of the characters from Munchkin Land, a Ballerina in a sea of Pink, led by Section Leader Giselle "The Wassi One" Blanche who alongside the Toronto Revellers will be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the local Toronto Chapter, not only will you enjoy the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival with the Toronto Revellers, but you will be supporting the fight against Breast Cancer, a very worthy cause indeed!

Charities: The Sickle Association of Canada, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Convenant House, Caribbean Children's Foundation, Camp Awakening, Step Stones for Youth, Ronald McDonald House, Nellie's, Youth Challenge Fund.

TruDYNASTY will be the first band in the 43 year history of Caribana to donate a portion of funds to 9 different charities. Each costume section will be represented by a charity.

A formal cheque ceremony will take place in September with media coverage, sponsors and charities.

About Us

Renaissance Mas Productions (RMP) was formed by joint band leaders, Kathleen Hughes and Nataki Christmas, and a team of enthusiastic mas makers and players in September 2010. This group was birth out of Arnold Hughes & Associates, a veteran mas maker and mas player. He started making mas in Trinidad in the '60s, and has expanded to Toronto, Calgary and Washington. Arnold and his dedicated team have produced many winning costumes over the years, and have achieved the coveted title of "Band Of The Year", twice. One of the meanings of the word "renaissance" is: "The activity, spirit, or time of the great revival of art, literature, and learning in Europe beginning in the 14th century and extending to the 17th century, marking the transition from the medieval to the modern world."

Renaissance Mas Productions will mark the revival of great mas; blending the traditional & modern worlds together. Both Kathleen and Nataki grew up surrounded by mas, first starting out as players, and then eventually developed the skill of making mas. They have been a part of the team that's helped to produce many of the winning costumes for Arnold Hughes & Associates. Some of the same members of this team are now a part of Renaissance Mas Productions.
