TruDYNASTY - Carnival Costumes for Low Income Families

For Immediate Release

Carnival Costumes for Low Income Families

Toronto, ON, July 18, 2011 – TruDYNASTY Carnival, a participant in the Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival, has costumes available for low income families.

“We know times are hard and many families struggle financially and would love a chance to participate in the parade but can’t afford it. We have a number of costumes available specifically for low income families because we want everyone to have a chance to experience the fun of masquerading in the parade,” said Thea Jackson, owner and designer of TruDYNASTY.

TruDYNASTY’s theme this year is the Roaring 20’s with eight costume sections ranging from Flappers to Gangsters. The costumes are sexy, an array of vibrant colours and styles and are available in bikini and full pieces to compliment any woman’s shape.

Giving back to the community is what TruDYNASTY is all about. Husband and wife team, Thea and Dario Jackson are also donating $10.00 for every costume sold to eight different charities. “The Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival is a celebration of culture and a community event. We feel it necessary to share it with the community. It also gives our masqueraders a ‘feel good’ that a portion of their costume is going to help others,” said Dario Jackson.

TruDYNASTY is a non-profit organization. Costume sales pay for the costume materials, rental of the mas camp where the costumes are made, truck rental, the DJ, etc. “Many people don’t realize the costs involved in putting a Mas Band in the parade. The more elaborate the costume with jewels and feathers, the more expensive it is to make. We rely heavily on volunteers to help build the costumes and are grateful for the help,” said Thea.
