Well Im not sure about your response, I live in Brampton and once I heard about the new Carnival I contacted the persons responsible to find out and they were always very courteous and informative and returned my calls.

I did ask them why they were on the same weekend as Hamilton and they explained to me that they were originally going to do it after Barries Carnival, but they heard that after the passing of the Hamiltons organizer that it would no longer be going on (which was something I've heard many times). They explained to me that they went as far as contacting the city office of Hamilton and the city didnt think they were coming out either. They explained that they contacted all the posted contact numbers for the organisers and all were out of service. After all their attempts they decided to go ahead with that weekend.

To be honest I never seen or heard anything about Hamilton til weeks after Brampton began their marketing for the Carnival.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Hamilton's Mardi Gras we missed yuh! Nice that you're back but...

..we discovered Barrie's CaribFest in '09 instead. Perhaps someone could light a fire under that special person somewhere and post/update/publish their website(s) for those of us who like to get it 'from the horse's mouth'.

I have little faith in West Fete Carnival plans for Brampton (same weekend as Hamilton?). I have spoken to half a dozen other Peel/Halton residents and a few of us have sent emails and left messages asking for more info and no one has returned our calls/emails yet. I spoke with a political somebody who apparently knows the 'West Fete' folks quite well, and he has had similar complaints of 'no response', so who knows. Perhaps they're rethinking Brampton for 2010.

So Hamilton and Brampton, if there is a punch line to the joke, its time to let the audience in on it.
